They Grow Too Quickly

It is impossible to keep a straight face in the presence of one or more kittens.

They grow too quickly, I think every time I look at our children.

Now as I organize this month’s photographs, time seems to have put on some warp speed.

They grow too quickly!

We have had the most special time this last six weeks with the smallest furry members of our family, The Fur Pile.

Our Draco, Luna, Bellatrix & Alastor are growing like little weeds.

If feels like in a flash they have become little individuals. They have such independent different little personalities that we’ve had some much fun getting to know.

They grow too fast!

It was decided that these little fur bags needed a formal bath.

They are water cats by nature and try to get into the shower with us all the time. They like to fluff and splash around like little birdies in their bath under the rebounded droplets of gentle water.

However, they had not been scrubbed and rinsed. I was not exactly sure how this was going to go over with the fur pile.

Due to the fact that we purchase at auction, we have a serious amount of plastic bins. Storage, organizational, drawers, all sizes, colors, shapes, that spans the decades. It’s like having our very own Rubbermaid and Tupperware history museum located conveniently in the corner of my garage.

Fishing about, I found a contender for the cat bath job.

It was a “dark” horse in the running. 😉

The kittens are still the size of a handful so I did not want to overwhelm them. We really wanted to keep our kitten pro water with happy experiences.

I filled the bucket part of the way with warm water and mixed the soap right into the water. That was my just in case they decide that I must die and attempt to climb me fool proof method to getting them smelling slightly better than cat spit.

I set the bucket in my shower. Got the shower head ready for rinsing and towels to stop the bleeding to dry the kittens.

They LOVED it!

Took me no time at all! I’m pleased to report that no blood was shed in this process either.

They look so pathetic and scrawny all wet.

Al was trying to hide his sorry little pelt for a good licking.

Mama Lily was totally fine with all that had occurred. She just went to work rubbing, licking and loving on her sweet furry babies.

An hour later, I checked on the little family.

They were once again fluffy, dry and snuggled in with their fur people happily.

They grow too quickly!

Six short weeks ago our family grew by sixteen more paws. We could not be any more pleased.

Their personalities are each so very different.

Luna seems to have a knack for getting into trouble.

That’s really something she can sink her teeth into.

She pounced on a napkin. She tasted a bag. She’s like a little shark in a fuzzy cute suit.

They sure are a handful but we’re enjoying every minute of it!

They are growing too fast but it’s been such a wonderful time for our family, both furry and mostly human.

Wishing you and yours a healthy, prosperous and joy filled New Year!

With Lots Of Love & Sandpaper Kisses,

Meg xoxo
