Welcome to Take Two of March’s Secret Subject Swap. This week, 13 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

This week is REALLY special!! My exceptionally talented daughter, Kira, took on the challenge and asked if she could participate in Secret Subject Swap Take Two! I’m just so proud of her! Thank you to Karen At Baking In A Tornado for allowing her the opportunity! Please give a warm welcome to the bravest, talented and possibly the coolest twelve year old I know. 😉

The Big Bang By Kira, writer, artiest, musician and my second oldest kiddo

My “Secret Subject” is: As you wake up, you find yourself smack in the middle of your favorite television show.  You have taken the place of your favorite character.  You have all of their memories plus your own.  How does the episode proceed?  How does it end?  Did your ‘self’ change it?

It all started one humid July evening when I was on my way to bed. The stories about my ungraceful feet are legendary so naturally it’s never a shock when I when test the laws of gravity. I tripped and went headlong into the corner of my bedpost and the wall; slamming into it like an angry ram. I felt the pain surge through my head sending explosive waves shocking my whole body. I collapsed onto my firm bed, grateful for the relief as I slipped into a hazy unconscious state.

What felt like seconds later, I woke up to my alarm going off signaling the new day. A huge rush of pain swept through me. “OWW!!” I screeched. Wait a minute. That didn’t sound like my voice. My mouth tasted like the bottles behind my grandfather’s bar smelled. Ugh, worst morning breathe ever! The sun peeking through the curtains burned my blurry eyes while a marching band struck up a tune in my head causing a terrible pounding in my temples. My tongue was so dry it almost stuck to the roof of my mouth. I got up to get some water and pain reliever. I glanced in the mirror expecting to see that allergies have me looking like a puffy mess.

I let out a scream of shock and had to take a minute to get it together.

I shook my head, blinking and rubbing my eyes thinking that I must be hallucinating at the reflection looking back at me from the mirror. “Oh…. My….. I’m Penny from Big Bang Theory!!!!” Right as I said that Leonard came busting through my door, “What’s wrong, what happened!!” he exclaimed.

“I’m Penny!” I nearly screamed rushing over to him. “And you’re Leonard!”

“Um are you okay Penny?” he said with a stupid look on his face.

I wrapped my arms around him hugging him excitedly with a squeal.

Seconds later Sheldon Cooper came calmly up to the rather small doorway in his pajamas and said, “I would like to know what made you two raise your voices to interrupt my sleeping session.” “SHELDON!!!!” I leaped and hugged him as he stood there looking at me like I was mental or something. “Are you feeling alright? You look like you have never seen me before. Is there no such thing as personal space in Nebraska? Unwanted physical contact. You my let go of me now!”

I followed the guys back towards their place.

“Oh yes I’m just fine.’ I said walking into their apartment. I just can’t believe I’m here I thought to myself I wanted to scream and hug them again so very badly! Then after about 2 minutes of agonizing silence as they eyed me suspiciously like I might catch on fire or spout some fascinating appendage for them to study. I was trying to play it cool, just be Penny. Think: What would Penny Do.

Leonard said “Rajesh and Howard will be here shortly.”

“Alright, sounds cool.” I said in the calmest voice I could use at the moment. I took a seat on the brown leather couch.

As the guys came up to the door I just couldn’t contain my excitement bursting out of me, and nearly knocked Rajesh and Howard off their terrified feet.

“My, what has gotten into you” Rajesh said in a shaky voice. Speaking in the same room with Penny was hard enough for Raj but having me bear hug him turned him into a rigid statue unsure of what to do next.

“I don’t know but something’s up with you Penny.” Leonard muttered. “You’re scaring the nerds, now come sit down.”

Just then I leaped onto “Sheldon’s spot” on the couch. He looked utterly shocked, horrified, enraged and stood there with this look on his face for about 30 seconds.

“That’s my spot” he scowled “you should know that by now! Strike Two for you! Do you want to have to attend the mandatory class AGAIN?”

“Okay” I giggled plopping down into his seat and wiggling back and forth rubbing all over his spot just to annoy him. I’ve always wanted to do that and this seemed like my chance.

Exasperated Sheldon went to scold me again but was cut off by Howard.

“I’ve got enough going on without you going meshugeh….” Howard said, “we need to work on that math problem!”

“Right, that’s right.” Sheldon gasped while pulling out this white board. While they worked on their math stuff I tried to pay attention right up to the point that I dosed off on the couch. Sheldon woke me and told me that we were all going out to eat.

Of course we went to The Cheesecake Factory. The guys all acted so funny when I announced that I loved to eat here. When I ordered I thought Sheldon was going to start taking samples of me.

“I’m a vegetarian.” I said when they questioned why I wasn’t getting my normal dish.

Oops! Dang it! Penny isn’t a vegetarian but there is NO way I’m putting meat in my mouth for that girl. I just hoped that she wouldn’t mind the little changes when this whole swap situation is resolved.

I could hardly eat I was just so overwhelmed. We all talked for who knows for how long. The guys knew that Penny had changed but they didn’t seem to mind when I joined their conversations about video games, computers and I even got them to go to the art museum with me next week. I knew this was a dream come true. Who knew being a tad klutzy would pay.

The next day I woke up really wanting to go surfing. Taking advantage of being an adult and the credit cards in my new wallet, I decided to take Amy surfing. We rented boards and I was a bit nervous if i  remembered how to surf as Penny. Turns out that due to Penny’s days in the Junior Rodeo, this girl is still in pretty good shape.  An hour had passed as we bobbed along in the ocean taking turning riding the waves and enjoying the afternoon. Along the beach I saw my whole real family selling crafts. They didn’t know me or anything so I casually walked up to their nifty little table and bought a bracelet for Amy and a necklace for me.

My mom and I had a long conversation and she said I reminded her of her daughter, Kira. What a surprise, right?

“Who were those people, do you know them?” Amy asked

“Well sort of, it’s complicated.” Was all I could reply.

We got back to “my” apartment and Sheldon and Leonard were right there to ask everything about where we went. After getting lectured about the ocean by Sheldon, and played twenty questions with Leonard. It took me two hours to finally get into bed and rest. It was the most perfect few days of my excellent life!

Sadly when I woke up, I was back in my own bed as my own real self with a splitting headache, black eye and a gash that required several stitches across the corner of my forehead.

“Well, at least I have something to remember the greatest two days of my life,” I said to myself staring at my face in the mirror, reaching up to touch the dressing covering the stitches.

The pain medicine finally kicked in and I carefully got into bed without injury. Getting comfortable under the hand stitched quilt I made myself months before and settling my head just right to avoid that side. I slowly drifted to sleep. Thinking about my adventures with The Big Bang Theory for the wonderful Secret Subject Swappers!
