Just A Little Nutty

A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?
-Albert Einstein

J is for Just A Little Nutty!
I’ve been a long time fan of personal blogs.
I’ve followed some for the past several years but never had the nerve to toss my hat in the ring.
Then we were hit by hurricane cancer.
On night as I laid cheek to tile on the bathroom floor, sicker than I’d ever believe a body could be without expiring, I panicked.
What if I laid right here and died.
I felt like it.
The Handsome Prince and our kids would have too much to handle.
I was terrified that I would leave them and they wouldn’t know what I was sent here to teach them.
I was failing miserably and they were going to be broken beyond measure.
I slithered along the floor and into the nightstand for a pen and some paper.
I started making notes about what I needed to tell them.
Everyone’s favorite recipes, how to make my laundry soap, ideas I had, cautionary tales I’ve experienced, what the difference is between vanillas (so not important but my sanity wasn’t totally there at that moment)…
I started thinking about a movie that I had seen years ago about a man that was dying and he was video taping lessons and thoughts for his child. It was a sad movie and it just reinforced that I needed to get on it!
What was I leaving behind… A red hot mess with a sprinkling of she was a good mom, wife and gave of her time freely tossed in for good measure.
Over the course of several days, I filled 3 spiral notebooks with doodles, drawings, how to’s, quotes, topics that needed to be discussed, a list of things that I needed my Handsome Prince to teach them.
Don’t forget… they need this stuff!
One night I pulled out the notebooks and made My Handsome Prince promise promise promise that he would read these and teach them.
“You’re going to be here to remind me and screw it up with me. You’re going to be fine.” he says.
Awkward Pause.
On the inside we both were not so sure.
We were tested and put through much but I kicked it’s butt for over 2 years now.
Knocking on wood. 🙂
The notebooks haunted me. My truths, pieces of my heart and soul crammed into the lines of pages that will eventually be lost in time and space. Forgotten.
Just a little nutty sprung up during a conversation with a friend who asked me to write a couple of pieces for her blog. She encouraged me to build my own blog… to which I laughed at her and said that NO One wants to here me go on and on. She disagreed.
My Handsome Prince finally grabbed the laptop and got the ball rolling.
“I paid for it so now you better get it going.” He says with a teasing smirk.
He always knows when I need a kick in the pants.
Just A Little Nutty is pieces of me. My life. Our life. I keep it kid friendly because they truly are the people I hope choose to read this one day.
I dearly wish that they log into Just A Little Nutty to snag their favorite Pumpkin Square Recipe, for Garden Soup, and yes maybe to someday wrap up in the memories of this life with me here when I take the eternal plunge.
I don’t plan of going anywhere for a very long time but it is a comfort to know that Just A Little Nutty will be here… good, bad and utterly weird but still here for all to mock. 🙂
Just A Little Nutty has a bit of everything because I want my friends, my children and anyone who wants it, to be able to make my recipes, learn form my ridiculous because Life it way too short!
I want my life to mean more than…
“She gave me a wicked price on a side table!”
It’s a collection of crazy BUT come on, I’m Just A Little Nutty. 😉

If you are going to purchase online, I would very much appreciate if you went to Amazon through my button. It’s the easiest way to support a blog through a purchase you’re making anyway. 🙂

Disclaimer: I do receive a small % of each purchase but there is never any pressure. If you are going to make a purchase, I LOVE it if you’d think of me. Every little bit does help support this blog!

I do run Google AdSense and will be running other advertisements as well shortly.  Those are the great ads you see on this page.

The column on the bottom right under Hop to it…

Blog hops help bloggers network with each other as well as allow readers to find a large group of talented people to check out in one fun location. I do not participate in each one each and every week but I do try to keep the list current and hop on board as often as I can.

I was so touched by this post. It was raw and deep felt. So much genuineness to this and it makes me want to read it a second time. I love everything you just shared her how you promote your blog and how it helps you and your family. This business of yours is awesome and I just know that you are awesome to so many people…me for one.

I’m so glad I met you Meg. You are very warm and inspiring!

I love that this is your way of passing down your years of experience, knowledge, advise, and love to your kids. Everyone else who reads it gets to benefit as well, but your family will always know that this is your way of publicly lovin all over them 🙂
