Welcome to Take One of January’s Secret Subject Swap. This week, 16 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.
A huge thank you to Karen at Baking In A Tornado for making the January Secret Swap possible. Well, EVERY secret swap possible, you brilliant, talented and organised lady!
I was thrilled to see that my January Secret Subject Swap Topic came from a blogger that I admire and stalk…
The ever talented mind of The Insomniac’s Dream.
My “Secret Subject” is:
Can you sum your life up with one song?
We can all carry on now.
Kidding… Kidding… Sort of.
There are so many sides. So many life experiences that often make me feel as though I have lived many lives in my short 33 years.
The soundtrack to this comedy of errors would be a lengthy and a wicked one.
Where to begin this musical tale?
There was the Chumbawamba trying to pickle myself, slightly alcoholic phase.
Nah. Not the soundtrack of my life thanks.
I wouldn’t be sad if every time I walked into the room people thought of the song One from A Chorus Line.
20 Extra Bonus Points if they busted out into actual song.
On second thought…
That might force me to take the final steps into never leaving my house again though. :/
The Handsome Prince and I would race up the hill at lunch to see who would get to his truck first in high school. Dave Matthews Crash blaring as we headed out of the parking lot and possibly take the truck off roading. When Crash starts playing, without fail we both think of each other.
Actually, truth be told our story is such a weirdly awesome tale.
If we were country music fans, I’m sure our song would be My Best Friend By Tim McGraw. (Shh, I secretly really dig this song)
It’s just ridiculous how head over heels in love with this boy I am. My perfect other half of me in every single way.
Even when I’d like to stomp on his toe, he’s still one of the best people I know.
Of course our fairy tale would have a theme song… but you’ll NEVER guess it unless you happen to be my sister.
Wanna give it a shot? Go ahead and Guess what our song is…
Did you get it right???
Raising teens makes about as much sense as I Am The Walrus but we keep them anyway.
Our family theme song started as a joke but ended up sticking… Who can’t relate to the Oz on his Crazy Train.
I Hope You Dance kiddos, always give it 100% as long as your using your powers for good not evil.
2012 was a big year for change around here.
The King of Pop had just the advice I needed.
Of course things would continue along the same course unless we make some big changes and rock the boat.
We took some HUGE freaky leaps to chase dreams.
I caught a case of New Attitude about goals both personal and professional.
As I pursued my dreams, I found my happy place. More and more ‘Whole Wide World’ became a personal anthem.
I’m going to go and take a chance…
Could you believe that people think I suck?
I know, hard to believe but it’s true and you might want to multiply that by 100.
I’ve been told more times this year that I’m in the wrong businesses. I’m chasing the wrong dreams.
That I can’t. I’ll never. I’m not this. I’m too much that.
They didn’t take into account that their cruel words and critical judgments were the catalyst for some big growth.
That I work harder because I hear those words echo through my head constantly.
They stirred the coals and fanned the flames.
I blindly set bigger goals and kept the course. Dogged determination is ticking those goals off the list.
Exactly what I set out to do is happening because I worked my rear off.
Nothing is out of reach if you are willing to work hard enough to be ready to receive it.
This new year I think I’ll be Defying Gravity.
Our future is Unlimited!
If you care to find me, look to the Western Sky.
