I Do… Pass The Cookie Jar!

I love you, Not only for what you are,

But for what I am When I am with you.

I love you, Not only for what You have made of yourself,

But for what You are making of me.

I love you For the part of me
That you bring out.

-Roy Croft

My Girlfriend is getting MARRIED!!!!!

HURRAY! CONGRATULATIONS!! It’s about time!

I have known “Wilma” for years before she met “Fred”, fell head over heels and announced as we did, that THEY were going to be happily committed FOREVER just would NOT actually be signing the marriage license. She razzed me when we cracked and finally got hitched… NOW it’s my turn! :)

Wilma and Fred are getting married! 5 years, countless animals and a mortgage, later they believe they are ready for marital bliss!

We couldn’t be happier for them! They are one of those couples that make you almost sick they are so dang sweet. It’s so absolutely clear that they were created just exactly to compliment the other.

The catch: They are doing this in just a few weeks!

Yikes!

I got a very calm phone call from her, in which she announced the big news. Then proceeded to fill me in on her plans to do this in short order since most of their family would be in town or around that week so why not? WOW! She’s a saint and has obviously been thinking about this for a few years. Anything can be done with a little pitching in!

They are hosting it on their ranch with a vintage country relaxed theme.

Her ideas are SO dang cute! I can’t wait! I can’t wait!!

She asked if I would DIY her wedding favors with her. OF COURSE!!!

Mason Jar Cookies

(This was the picture of the idea she forwarded me.)

We’re printing the labels with her logo on one side and the baking instructions on the other. I LOVE this idea! It’s going to be an intimate affair so everyone in attendance knows that these two use Mason Jars for EVERYTHING… including a variety of sizes for drinking glasses. :) She’s even plotting Mason Jars for candles

and Mason Jars for drinks.

They are also crazy about cookies.

This DIY project is SO them! Best part is it can be done in advance and all of the supplies can be purchased in bulk to save money. I have crates from Our Family Business to store them and I believe she’s planning to use them for part of a display as well.

She decided that she wanted to have 4 different types of “Cookie Jars” for her guests to choose from.

To make your own “Cookie Jars” for thank you’s, holidays, special occasions, to save your bulk supplies or just for fun, you will need:

Clean and Dry Mason Jars With Lids

Your ingredients

Fabric, Paper, Raffia, Ribbon, Pictures, Fiberfill, Tags or Stickers…

What ever you desire to decorate your lids, or not. This is a really simple creative choice.

The key is to carefully layer each ingredient in slowly so that you get the appearance you desire. It’s super quick and simple to make quite a few of these at one time. You just measure more while your already there! That’s why I LOVE this fun craft!

She hasn’t decided how she wants to decorate the lids just yet.

Savings Lifestyle posted a few recipes for Mason Jars to give as gifts.

I liked their picture with the different examples of how to decorate the lids.

Then we found this cute idea for using paper on the lid. LOVE it!

What do you think?

Paper or Fabric?

I’ll keep you posted on what she decides!

Meanwhile, enjoy your Cookies!

I know who will have their hand in the Cookie Jar around here! ;)

What size mason jars did you use? I LOVE THIS IDEA! and will definitely be doing fo rmy wedding as we are also having a “mason jar theme”

    thanks!

    1. Meg

I’ll call the bride to double check the size, as she’s the mason jar queen. :)
They were medium size… about the size of the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger.
I’ll shoot you an email when I hear from her and a few pics of what she did.
Congrats on the big day!!! I’d LOVE to see pics!! How exciting! The mason jars really turned out super cute. Her whole manson jar theme looked AMAZING!

Hey, could I use one of your photos on this post for a school newspaper article as long as I credit your website?

    1. Meg

Of Course! Good Luck on that article! :)

  3. Gail

You’ve already put these together by now, I imagine. I, for the life of me, cannot get the second 3/4 cup of m&m’s in my quart jars. :-( I have shaken, smushed, and smashed… how did you do it?

    1. Meg

We packed each layer in tight. The only issue was crushing the top few when we put the lids on.

  4. Lorinda M - The Rowdy Baker

Such a great idea – and fun to put together! Love ALL of them!
