Fudge Sauce

Fudge Sauce is so easy, makes for an excellent gift and always puts people in such a happy mood.

Just the word *fudge* ripples off the tounge and send the mind spinning about what you’d like to drizzle over or dip into some of that homemade Fudge Sauce.

Mmm… ice cream, cookies, hot chocolate, coffee, dip gummy bears, peach and watermelon fruity rings, apples, berries, bananas, marshmellows, pineapple, mango, drizzle over cobblers, pies, decorate plates for presentation.

The very best part of Fudge Sauce is re-creating that HUGE banana split you got to enjoy as a child.

The kind with several sliced bananas, many flavors of ice cream, fudge sauce, pineapple sauce, strawberry sauce all piled into one large dish and topped with sweet creamy homemade whipped cream, chooped peanuts and TONS of marichino cherries.

Maybe some cookie or candy bar crumbles and sprinkles tossed in for good measure if you want to modernise and customise this classic frosty timeless treat!

Fudge Sauce seems to  bring out the smiles of all who are gifted a container of this incrediable silky dessert accent.

Even better is when you get to whip out the homemade fudge sauce and enjoy the ohh’s and ahh’s first hand when you serve it atop an amazing dessert creation!

Fudge Sauce needs to be stored in the refridgerator.

When we make these to give as gifts, I choose a small screw top clear jar that is easy for me to lable.

I will often print the labels on our home computer to stick to the jars.

Then I’ll tie ribbon or colored raffia to complete the decoration.

Then I stack the jars in a box that I will be comfortable transporting them in.

Gifts stay decorated, cooled and easy for me to move when I’m ready that way. 😉

In a saucepan over medium heat add:

4 Ounces of Semi Sweet Chocolate chunks, chopped or chipped

1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar

1/3 Cup Butter

1 Can of Evaporated Milk

Stir constantly as the chocolate and butter melts.

Mix well as you bring the contents of the pan to a boil.

Stir constantly. Stir constantly… Did I tell you to keep stirring???

Yup, must mean it’s IMPORTANT!

If you don’t stay right on top of this, it will burn.

Burnt chocolate is not a nice gift, topping or good in any way shape or form.

You really have to burn chocolate once to NEVER want to do that again, so stir my friends.

Don’t gift burnt chocolate unless you are feeling really passive agressive about your gift giving this year.

If you make people eat it, they will avoid your cooking.

I warn ya cuz I love ya! 😉

When it comes to a boil, turn it down to LOW.

Keep on stirring and allow the fudge sauce to cook for another 5 minutes with your tiard arm a mixing.

When the 5 minutes is up, turn off the stove and mix into the fudge sauce:

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Mix the vanilla in well.

Then ladel the fudge sauce into your gift jars if you wish


Around here the Fudge Sauce has it’s own microwaveable container.

I like to serve the fudge sauce warm over what ever so moves me at the moment.

Over ice cream is my favorite place to have this fudge sauce.

The possibilities are endless!
