Come On, Get Happy!  What Have You Done for Yourself This Week Blog Hop – #1!

Come On, Get Happy!  You know you want to.  Why wouldn’t you? Irish at Dedicated 2 Life and myself here at Just A Little Nutty will be sharing this fun filled event each Tuesday to share and inspire happiness.  So, jump on board and won’t you join us for this fantastic “Get Inspired” Blog Hop?

It’s simple.  There are no rules!  We just want you to share something positive that you did for yourself this week to make yourself happy.  Link up a post with a photo or a short story you want to share of what you did for yourself that brought a gigantic smile your way.

This is what I did to make myself happy this week:

I find it a huge challenge to specifically do something to make myself happy.

As a wife, mother and entrepreneur someone or something always seems to trump my personal needs and I leap into action to take care of it. That’s what I signed up for. I love it but let’s be real…

(I have a large family, I use a lot of life examples.)

If I got a special type of soda as a treat and I went around filling up everyone’s cups to the brim by the time I got to my own cup, there would be nothing left.

I could A: Get Huffy and pronounce I need to drink water anyway.

Or B: Allow everyone to pour a little of theirs to fill mine too.

No only does B allow others to give and share but it also allows me to flex my gratitude muscles too.

We give so much away, it’s extremely important to take time to treat ourselves and find the things large or small that bring the color to life, the joy, possibility and makes us HAPPY!

I recharged my happy place and stole a few moments for myself.

My family can all attest that when I adhere to my morning yoga practice that I am a much happier and nicer person in the morning.

This week I made a point of hitting the mat EVERY day for at least 15 minutes before anyone got up.

Oh how I wanted to stay in my warm bed and dread getting up for another 20 minutes. I was cold and cranky.

Within minutes I’d be warmed up and inspired.

Thinking about it even makes me smile. My time. My morning routine then becomes almost joyful.

My stress decreases and the little things don’t ruffle my feathers.

When I am happy I usually have my camera in hand or pretty close to capture the moment.

I went for a short walk between the storms and took pictures just for fun. I got some great shots and ended up having a blast editing them later.

I have no real plans for the photos but I loved every second of the process.

Which gave birth to a few other ideas while I was busy having a blast creating because it makes my heart happy.

    I totally agree with you, everyone needs some time to themselves! People think I’m crazy for getting up at 4:30 in the morning, but it’s my time to workout, to work on my blog, drink some coffee etc, before I have to go to work and before the kids get up. It’s just ME time! Good for you for making time for yourself! A happy mama makes a happy house :)

    I’m on a diet but I bought myself a burger meal once this week. Yes, only once so that I won’t feel like I’m sacrificing too much. And I reconnected with a long lost friend. These count as something for myself right? :)
