Fresh Basil & Parsley Pesto might just be one of the very easiest meals you’ll ever prepare!
It’s so very versatile!
Most of the ingredients can be found already in your herb garden and pantry.
My experience growing Basil and Parsley is that they are both hearty plants that take off with basic matinance.
Plants give up the will to live the second they cast chlorophyll my direction.
I have a purple sparkley thumb so if I can keep it alive and have it thrive, my friend you will have NO trouble.
Basil & Parsley Pesto is excellent served hot or cold.
8 Ingredients blended together can be an addition to a meal, served as a snack, as a main course and easily stored or frozen for later!
Grab your blender or food processor.
3 Cups of Basil (Fresh Leaves)
1/2 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 Cloves of Garlic
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Cup Crushed Pine Nuts
1 Cup Fresh Parmesan Cheese
3/4 Cup Parsley
Pepper (to taste)
Hit the puree button and let it go to town.
It took longer to gather the ingredients than it will be to make it.
When it’s all blended together you are ready to serve it!
Basil & Parsley Pesto freezes VERY WELL.
Fill an ice cube try with your pesto, freeze and pop them out to store in a Ziploc freezer bag until you are ready to use them.
Bonus to that is you can take out the exact amount you need for each meal.
When the garden explodes… use it’s bounty and save it for another day this way!
Around here Basil & Parsley Pesto is a favorite after school snack. They LOVE to dip bagel chips in Pesto or Hummus.
